With 16GB of GDDR6X VRAM and a 256-bit memory interface, the GPU offers enhanced performance and power efficiency compared to the previous Ampere-based generation.

The card’s front panel offers multiple output options, including DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI 2.1, which supports up to 48 Gb/s bandwidth and a variety of higher resolutions and refresh rates, including 8K @ 60 fps, 4K @ 120 fps, and even up to 10K. In addition to high-resolution gaming, the RTX 4080 is capable of accelerating computationally intensive applications using its 9728 cores through CUDA and other APIs.

For cooling, ZOTAC incorporated the advanced IceStorm 3.0 cooling system. The system features three 110mm fans with wide curved blades, which are twice the size of the previous generation. Each blade’s curvature and stripe are optimized for maximum airflow and air pressure, while the increased fan height ensures optimal airflow. The deeper fan shroud design generates a more focused airstream intake, and each fan rotation pushes more cool air down for improved temperatures.

The heat sink is larger, with an aluminum fin stack designed to handle intense thermals. The nine precision-machined copper heat pipes are vertically arranged for increased surface contact with the GPU, extracting more heat for better dispersion. A custom vapor chamber hovers over the base of the heat sink, while the nickel-plated copper plate spreads heat evenly for improved cooling performance. The SPECTRA 2.0 provides dynamic RGB lighting, which can be customized in color and pattern through the ZOTAC GAMING FireStorm software.
